Sage, Sybil

My medium is pique assiette, the French mosaic style that uses broken plates, and I include photos provided by client to animate the work and keep a loved one’s presence vivid. Each memory urn and vase is unique, designed to evoke warm memories. This artistic celebration of a life is likely to be passed along to future generations. Each is unique, done as a custom order on a metal urn, with the client choosing colors (or supplying own dinnerware). I can include name, dates and perhaps other meaningful items (a business card, final tweet, etc.) When I was experiencing intense grief, looking at photos was most comforting.

“Remembering Cinnamon,” my first pet urn,  was accepted by the American Juried Art Salon into its 2011 exhibition.
